Kalinga Stadium saw FC Goa players singing and dancing in the rainstorm after they bagged the title. The Gaurs lifted their second Kalinga Super Cup 2025 after defeating Jameshedpur FC by 3-0 on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Borja Herrera led the team with a brilliant brace, with Dejan Dražić ending the night in a cinematic way.
It was the first trophy by FC Goa under the head coach Manolo Márquez, and the second win in the tournament. The fabulous FC Goa’s play made it the first team to bag the title twice. This resulted in securing their qualification with the AFC Champions League Two 2025-26 and will be returning to the Asian Club Competition after four years.
The battle between FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC was an exciting one. With the FC Goa players’ attacking firepower, Jamshedpur struck with its unbreached defensive technique. Although they did show some promise in the early sessions, Javier Hernández’s sharp save from Hrithik Tiwari in the third minute made the tables turn. Jamshedpur’s compact shape and counter-attacking style didn’t help them to cope with Goa’s expansive play.
With the third and the final goal coming in the 71st minute, FC Goa players dominated both possession and territory. Borja was presented the Kalinga Player of the Match.
