In today’s thrilling match, Gujarat Titans, leading with 18 points, will face off against Lucknow Super Giants at Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB and PBKS are close to securing a playoff spot, while GT has already secured it.

GT’s success has been largely attributed to its strong top order, which includes Buttler, Gill, and Sudharsan. With 21 wickets, Prasidh Krishna spearheads its potent bowling attack, assisted by Siraj and Sai Kishore.

Today, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) will face off against Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Table-toppers Titans have already secured their playoff spot with 18 points from 12 games.  The competition for the top spot is still very much alive, though, with Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) trailing closely behind on 17 points.

This season, Gujarat has everything in control.  Jos Buttler (500), captain Shubman Gill (601), and their strong top three, B Sai Sudharsan (617 runs), have been in outstanding form and have been the mainstay of their triumphs.  They have systematically outperformed the opposition bowlers with 16 half-centuries and a century between them.  The sole warning?  This top-heavy success has left their middle order mostly untested.

The bowling of the Gujarat Titans is outstanding. With 21 wickets, Prasidh Krishna is the top wicket-taker. Both Mohammed Siraj and the towering left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore, who have both taken 15 wickets, have been a great help to him.

GT vs LSG: Pitch report

The Narendra Modi Stadium pitch is generally known to favor batters.  The ball holds at the bat well and provides ample opportunity for the batsmen to hit boundaries. First innings averages at this venue have ranged between 165 and 170, but in recent seasons, with conditions favoring the batsmen, this figure is likely to be on the higher side. A captain winning the toss may prefer batting first, putting down a score; however, dew may play a factor towards the evening, making the pursuit much easier.
