Shardul Thakur To Join LSG In IPL 2025

The Lucknow Supergiants may soon deploy Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur as an injury replacement, despite the fact that he was not sold at the November 2025 IPL auction. On Sunday, Thakur was seen working out at the team’s camps while wearing the LSG uniform. He even joined all of the LSG players in celebrating Holi. Shardul has previously played for the dysfunctional Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Chennai Super Kings.

Shardul Thakur, who was released from CSK before the significant auction, has taken 94 wickets and built 307 runs in his IPL career. In 2017, Shardul made his debut for the Men in Blue, participating in 11 Test matches, 47 ODIs, and 25 T20Is. In 2021, Shardul had a memorable IPL season while playing for CSK, which was captained by MS Dhoni. He took 21 wickets in 16 games for the team and helped them win the championship for the fourth time, defeating KKR by 27 runs in Dubai.

Thakur is on the verge of signing a contract with the Lucknow Super Giants, who are challenged by injuries to pacers Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan. Although pictures of Shardul bowling during the practice went viral on social media, the team has not yet formally confirmed the all-rounder’s status. In the IPL 2024, Thakur played for the Chennai Super Kings, but the team eliminated him before the huge auction.
