In the NBA Playoffs, Buddy Hield made fans giggle by wearing the incorrect shorts during Game 1 against the Timberwolves, which caused a delay.

Buddy Hield, a guard for the Golden State Warriors, provided fans a humorous moment Tuesday night when he took the court wearing the incorrect shorts to begin the Western Conference semifinals.

The Golden State Warriors’ official black and yellow jersey was replaced by black and blue shorts when Hield walked on the court in the first minute of Game 1 between the Timberwolves and Warriors at the Target Center.

When Hield realized the gaffe, he smiled and hurried off the court to the locker room to change, and the Timberwolves bench noticed it.

The Warriors had to burn an early timeout as a result of the uniform error, which prompted a brief delay. A game delay was also evaluated by officials.

Despite the rough beginning, play resumed without incident as Hield promptly returned dressed appropriately.

The event happened only days after Hield’s playoff heroics in Game 7 against the Houston Rockets, where he scored a career-playoff high 33 points, including nine 3-pointers, to keep Golden State’s playoff dreams alive.

Online, fans were having a great time, with many taking in the amusing scene on X (previously Twitter).

Despite a late scare and the loss of Stephen Curry due to a hamstring injury, the Golden State Warriors managed to win Game 1 and advance one step closer to a possible return to the Western Conference finals for the first time since their 2022 championship season.

X got loaded with the memes during Timberwolves vs Warriors:

Hield, who has emerged as a key player off the bench, found the episode to be a lighthearted reminder that while excellent shooting can win games, you must play with the appropriate shorts.

Stephen Curry departed Tuesday night’s opener due to a left hamstring strain, and the Golden State Warriors are getting ready to go without him for Game 2 of their playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after his team’s 99-88 Game 1 triumph that Curry is classified day-to-day and will get an MRI on Wednesday.

“We’re game-planning for him to not be available Thursday,” Kerr stated, adding, “because hamstring injuries are so complicated, we don’t know yet (for sure)… we have to talk about (finding offense without Steph).”

Curry was spotted grasping at his leg after he scored on a driving 13-foot jumper with 8:20 remaining in the second quarter. Before play was stopped, he stayed in the game for 29 seconds while making a gesture to the bench.

Curry then proceeded directly to the locker room after leaving the court.

Later in the second quarter of Timberwolves vs Warriors, the team ruled out their franchise star. With the Warriors leading 30–20 at the end of Game 1, Curry had scored 13 points.

Later on, he was observed leaving the locker room with a pronounced limp.

Golden State would suffer a terrible blow if Curry missed more than Game 1. In the Golden State Warriors’ seven-game series victory over the Houston Rockets in the first round, Curry averaged 24 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

Between Game 1 and Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinal series against Minnesota, there is only one day off. But then there are three days off between Game 5 and Game 6.

Despite having a shooting thumb injury, 37-year-old Curry was already participating in the Timberwolves versus. Warriors game.
